Panthers Take Another Shot at Eliminating Lightning in Game 5

Panthers Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky Named Finalist for 2023-24 Vezina Trophy

The Florida Panthers advanced to the Second Round of the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs after defeating the Boston Bruins in the first round.

The Florida Panthers are one win away from eliminating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Panthers won Game 4 of the series 4-1 on Tuesday night at FLA Live Arena, taking a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven matchup.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves for the Panthers, while Anthony Duclair, Aleksander Barkov, Sam Bennett, and Matthew Tkachuk scored goals. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 26 saves for the Lightning, who got their only goal from Nikita Kucherov.

The Panthers can clinch the series with a win in Game 5 on Thursday night at Amalie Arena. The Lightning will be looking to stave off elimination and force a Game 6 back in Sunrise.

Bobrovsky is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL's top goaltender. He had a 2.41 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in the regular season.

The Panthers are looking to reach the Stanley Cup Final for the second straight season. They lost to the Colorado Avalanche in six games last year.
